BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 14. The total passenger traffic at the Ankara Esenboga International Airport of Türkiye grew by 40 percent in June 2023 and totaled 5.49 million people, Trend reports.
According to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye, in the reporting month, the airport's passenger traffic on domestic flights increased by 38 percent to 4.36 million people, and on international flights - by 46 percent to 1.1 million people.
The airport's cargo turnover in June this year amounted to 51,336 tons, which is 24 percent more compared to the same month in 2022.
Meanwhile, the airport's cargo turnover on domestic flights increased by 25 percent compared to the same period of last year and amounted to 33,797 tons, while on international flights - by 20 percent to 17,539 tons.
The number of flights operated from the airport in June 2023 increased by 31 percent on annual basis and equaled 44,228.
At the same time, the number of domestic flights increased by 34 percent, to 34,506, whereas international flights - by 22 percent, to 9,722.
Meanwhile, in 2022, passenger traffic at all airports in Türkiye reached 181.9 million people, while cargo turnover amounted to more than four million tons.
