BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 21. Over 12.2 million tons of cargo were transported from Egypt to Turkish ports from January through July 2023, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye said, Trend reports.
Vessels under the flag of Türkiye delivered 1.4 million tons of cargo from Egypt to Turkish ports, and vessels under the flags of other countries delivered 10.7 million tons. Vessels under the flag of Egypt delivered 48,424 tons of cargo to the ports of Türkiye during the specified period.
In addition, 860,033 tons of transit cargo were delivered from Egypt to the ports of Türkiye from January through July 2023.
Turkish ports received 32.5 million tons of cargo in July 2023.
Cargo traffic to Turkish ports by vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 2.4 million tons, while under the flags of other countries it reached 30 million tons during this period. In addition, a total of 6.1 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the Turkish ports in July 2023.
Moreover, Turkish ports received 227 million tons of cargo from January through July 2023.
Cargo transportation by Turkish-flagged vessels through domestic ports amounted to 16.8 million tons.
