Volume of cargo transshipment by Türkiye's Ceyhan port revealed

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 24. Türkiye's Ceyhan port received 333 ships from January through April 2024, the statement of Türkiye's Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure said, Trend reports.

According to the ministry, during the mentioned period, the port of Ceyhan received 24 vessels under the Turkish flag and 309 vessels under the flags of other countries.

Meanwhile, Türkiye's ports received more than 34 million tons of cargo in April 2024.

During this period, the reception of cargo to domestic ports by Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 2.3 million tons.

“Cargo shipments of vessels under the flags of other countries to Turkish ports amounted to 32 million tons,” the statement of the ministry said.

Furthermore, a total of 6 million tons of transit cargo were transported from Turkish ports in April 2024.

The data of the ministry indicates that the ports of Türkiye received 137.1 million tons of cargo from January through April 2024.

“The cargo traffic of vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 10 million tons. However, by vessels under the flags of other countries cargo traffic to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 127 million tons,” the statement notes.

The information says that from January through April 2024, a total of 22.9 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye.

Additionally, in April 2024, the ports of Türkiye received 4,756 vessels.

The number of vessels accepted in the ports of Türkiye under the flags of other countries amounted to 3,329, and the number of vessels accepted under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 1,427.

The ports of Türkiye received 18,477 vessels from January through April 2024.

“During this period, the number of vessels under the flags of other countries accepted by Turkish ports amounted to 12,704 and the number of vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 5,773,” the statement of the ministry reads.
