BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 28. A total of 43 companies with Russian capital were registered in Türkiye from January through April 2024, which is 350 companies less than in the same period of 2023, the statement of the Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TOBB) said, Trend reports.
The statement notes that during the reporting period, along with the decrease in the number of registered Russian companies, their total capital also decreased.
"While the total capital of Russian companies registered in Türkiye amounted to 51.1 million Turkish liras ($1.58 million) during the reporting period, this figure amounted to 606.1 million Turkish liras ($18.8 million) for the same period in 2023," the statement of the authority reads.
The authority also mentioned that from January through April 2024, the majority of Russian companies were registered in Istanbul (26).
"The total capital of Russian companies registered in Istanbul amounted to 8 million Turkish liras ($248,000)," TOBB emphasized.
However, according to the information, from January through April 2024, 23 trading companies with Russian capital were registered in Türkiye.
The rest of the companies operate in other sectors of the economy.
