Turkmenistan's state concern Turkmennebit (Turkmenoil) over 10 months of 2014 produced 4.4 million metric tons of oil at fields under development, the Turkmen Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources Ministry said Dec. 6.
The ministry said that the number of the developed sites with hydrocarbon resources exceeded 25.
Turkmenistan has a strong resource base, which is a safe basis for the development of the country's oil and gas industry, the ministry said.
The activities of the state concern Turkmennebit covers over 600 oil, and oil and gas deposits at different stages of development.
Among the recently developed fields there are Chekishler, Garadurun, South Kamyshlydja, Nebitlije, located in the west of Turkmenistan.
Over the years of Turkmenistan's independence the oil concern was able to increase oil production from five million metric tons annually up to eight million metric tons annually.
