The power plants of Azerbaijani joint-stock company, Azerenergy, generated in Jan. 2015 about 2.3 billion kilowatt hours of electricity versus about 2.2 billion kilowatt hours in Jan. 2014, according to a message from the company.

Azerenergy is a major producer of electricity in Azerbaijan.

In 2014, Azerenergy produced about 22.7 billion kilowatt hours of electricity compared to over 21.5 billion kilowatt hours in 2013.

The generation power of Azerbaijan's electricity system has grown by 30 percent in the last five years.

Currently, this figure is 7,105 megawatts, which allows producing annually about 24 billion kilowatt hours of electricity.

This allows Azerbaijan to annually export 2.1 billion kilowatt hours of electricity.
