BP completed the scheduled preventive maintenance on the platform of the largest gas and condensate field 'Shah Deniz' in Azerbaijan, the company told Trend August 21.

"The preventive maintenance work was completed, but the platform has not been yet launched," said BP. "It is currently being tested. The production at the field will be resumed in the next few days."

The work at the platform of 'Shah Deniz' was suspended August 2 for 20 days due to the planned preventive maintenance work.

The reserve of the 'Shah Deniz' field is estimated at 1.2 trillion cubic meters of gas.

The contract for its development was signed June 4, 1996.

In H1 2015, some 5.2 billion cubic meters of gas and 1.2 million metric tons of condensate (about 9.8 million barrels) were produced at the 'Shah Deniz' versus 4.75 billion cubic meters of gas and 1.12 million metric tons of condensate produced in the same period of 2014.
