The Complex Drilling Works Trust of Azerbaijan's State Oil Company (SOCAR) kicked-off works to drill two new wells at the 'Darwin Bank' field in the Caspian Sea, SOCAR said Sept. 22.
The drilling will be conducted at an order from the Absheronneft Oil and Gas Production Department.
SOCAR said the projected depth of the well #745, to be drilled from the platform #740, will stand at 930 meters.
The well #764, to be drilled from the platform #720, will have a projected depth of 1,440 meters.
Geologists estimate that the expected daily output of each well will stand at five tons of oil.
Some 73,963 meters were drilled in Jan.-Aug. 2015 by SOCAR (excluding joint ventures and operating companies).
This is 17.24 percent less than the same period of last year, which was 89,375 meters.
