Bushehr province accounts for 25.41 per cent of Iran’s total exports

The latest statistics released by Iran's customs administration showed that the exports from 10 provinces accounted for some 87 per cent of Iran's total exports in the first two months of the current calendar year which started on March 21, in term of value.

The southern province of Bushehr was at top of the list with 25.41 per cent of the total amount, the Fars News Agency reported.

Tehran's exports also accounted for 19.7 per cent of the figure.

Khuzestan with 12, Esfahan with eight, Khorasan with six, East Azarbaijan with 4.6, Fars with 3.85, Markazi with 2.6, West Azarbaijan with 2.38, and Yazd with two per cent were the other eight provinces.

The 10 provinces' total exports accounted for 79 per cent of Iran's total exports in the previously mentioned period in terms of weight.

The Fas News Agency reported on June 30 that five countries imported 69 per cent of Iran's total non-oil exports in terms of value, in the first four months of 2013.

China, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan and India are the five mentioned countries.

Iran exported 24.309 million tons of goods worth 10.178 billion dollars in the same period.

The average price for each ton of Iranian goods was around 419 dollars in the four month period which is 15.99 per cent more than the same period of the previous year.

Iran exported 2.136 and 2.02 billion dollars' worth of goods to China and India, respectively in the mentioned period.

Iran also imported 11.109 million tons of goods worth 15.41 billion dollars in the mentioned period.

The IRNA News Agency reported on Mar.26 that Asia accounted for 92 per cent of Iran's total exports in the previous calendar year which ended on March 20.

Iraq, China, the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan, India, Turkey, South Korea, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, and Azerbaijan were the main destinations for Iranian goods, IRNA reported. Europe also accounted for five per cent of Iran's exports.

Iran had non-oil trade with 196 countries in the previous year.

The country's balance of trade with 97 countries such the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Switzerland, Turkey and China was negative in the aforementioned period, the ISNA News Agency reported on March 6.

Tehran's balance was also positive with 99 countries, including Iraq, Afghanistan, India, Turkmenistan, and Pakistan.

The balance of trade or net exports is the difference between the monetary value of exports and imports of output in an economy over a certain period. It is the relationship between a nation's imports and exports.
