Chairperson of the Majlis (Parliament) of Turkmenistan, Akja Nurberdieva has received credentials of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand in Turkmenistan (with the residence in Ankara) Tharit Charungvat., the Turkmen government reported.
Speaking about prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Thailand, the diplomat noted the huge interest of his country's full activation of interaction both bilaterally and within international organizations. Trade and economy, fuel and energy, cultural and humanitarian spheres were named among the priorities of bilateral cooperation.
Earlier it was reported that the Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhamedov plans to make an official visit to Thailand as part of which is scheduled signing of a number of documents that will strengthen the legal base of bilateral relations.
The Turkmen President noted at a meeting that one of the important directions of Turkmenistan's foreign policy strategy is to deepen and build a mutually beneficial partnership with the countries of Southeast Asia and the Asia-Pacific region, where there is a huge potential for fruitful cooperation in various fields.
