Iran's Air Defense Forces will be equipped with an advanced radar system, which is able to detect and locate radar-evading drones, IRNA quoted Commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base, Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili as saying on Saturday.

"Iranian previous generation radars were not able to detect and track planes of this type. However, new devices are capable to detect both manned aircrafts and UAVs," Esmailli said.

Early September, Esmaili announced that specialists of the Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base had designed a space radar capable to detect and to track cruise missiles, low-flying aircrafts and objects located at a distance of several thousands kilometers.

Then Iranian Army top official Mohammad Hossein Shamkhali said Iran is ready to export advanced systems and radars to other countries.

"No regional country can provide radars with higher quality than our radars and we are included in the top ten countries with the capability of building radar, surveillance and detection systems," the official said.
