Nazar Zaka, an alleged American spy, had arrived in Tehran after "authorized officials" allowed the Iran Computer Trade Organization to invite him to attend an ICT event.

The Iran Computer Trade Organization has announced that Nazar Zaka, a "Lebanese-American citizen" who was arrested due to espionage charges, was invited to attend a two-day ICT conference in Tehran on August 30, Fars news agency reported.

The report did not reveal an organization or officials who conducted investigation to approve his identity.

According to the report, he attended the event as the director of the Arab Countries ICT Council.

On November 3, Iranian conservative media reported that Zaka had "close ties" with the US intelligence services.

According to the previous reports, he was seen wearing a military uniform in the Riverside Military Academy in the US.

Some Iranian hardline sources called Zaka "a hidden treasure" due to his relations with intelligence and military facilities in the United States.

Meanwhile, Iranian conservative media reported that the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) had arrested several members of an "infiltration network" linked to the Western governments.

The arrests took place after the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's remarks against enemy's "infiltration" in the country.

Reacting to the arrests, President Rouhani criticized this action.
