China will accelerate the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu said at a meeting with Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Zhantoro Satybaldiyev in Ala-Archa state residence on Monday, KyrTAG reports.
"The construction of the railway from China to Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan will lead to the intensification of trade and economic relations. Several rounds of discussions at the expert level have already been held, and we hope after agreeing a feasibility study in the near future to start construction," Liangyu said.
"The construction of the railway Kyrgyzstan has been waiting for a long time, and I would like to complete a feasibility study and start quickly construction," Satybaldiyev said.
The prime minister said that Kyrgyzstan expresses its sincere appreciation to China for the implementation of bilateral projects in the transport, construction of roads and power lines.
"For years you have supported us in the design and study of the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, and the Kyrgyz side is ready to continue this work to achieve mutually acceptable results. Government will take active and effective measures to protect Chinese investment, because your country is one of major donors to our country," the head of the government added.
