Georgian Energy Ministry is ready to transfer the Kaztransgas-Tbilisi gas distribution company to the Kazakh side.
"I have repeatedly made statements about our readiness to return the management of the Tbilisi gas distribution company to Kazakhstan's Kaztransgas company," Georgian Deputy Prime Minister, Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze said.
At the same time, the minister underscored the need to clarify the financial side of this issue, adding that Georgian Finance Ministry is currently busy with this.
"Talking about the financial side, I mean the debts and the Finance Ministry is busy with this. We, being the Finance Ministry, are ready to return the company to the Kazakh side," Kaladze said.
The preliminary data states that the issue is to repay around $80 million worth of debt that was generated during the Kazakh management of the Kaztransgas-Tbilisi company followed by its removal from the management of the company.
