Some 1,000 bodies were found on the shore of north- eastern Japan, three days after a massive earthquake and tsunami struck the region, Kyodo News reported Monday.

Some 1,000 bodies were found on the shore of north- eastern Japan, three days after a massive earthquake and tsunami struck the region, Kyodo News reported Monday.

The bodies were found on Ojika Peninsula in Miyagi prefecture, one of the areas hit hardest by Friday's magnitude-9 earthquake and deadly Pacific tsunami, dpa reported.
