Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has received on Monday the UN Deputy Secretary General - Executive Director of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) Babatunde Osotimehin.

The prime minister's press service told Trend that the parties discussed a plan of further cooperation between Georgian government and the UNFPA.

Irakli Garibashvili thanked Babatunde Osotimehin for the assistance provided by the UNFPA for Georgia in 15 years.

In turn, the UNFPA Executive Director expressed hope that the government of Georgia will continue its current path.

He said that, the UNFPA will help Georgia to take more successful steps in this direction in order to influence the life of every person.

The meeting was also attended by UNFPA's Eastern Europe and Central Asia Regional Office Werner Haug, UNFPA Representative in Turkey - Country Director for Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia Zahid Huque and head of UNFPA office in Georgia Lela Bakradze.
