Three people, all men, have been shot, one fatally, in Manhattan near Penn Station during the city's morning rush hour, Press TV reported.

The shooting. which has been followed with no arrests, occurred around 6 am early Monday near the entrance of a subway station at 35th Street, a block north of Penn Station which is one of the nation's busiest transit hubs.

According to police in a Monday morning news conference, the shooting reportedly happened after an argument in a McDonald's restaurant known as a hangout for addicts.

When the three men walked out of the shop, a heavy-set male in a black hoodie allegedly followed and shot them with a 9-mm pistol.

In the shooting, Angel Quinones, 43, was shot once in the neck and fell dead at the bottom of the stairs in the subway station, a police official said.

The second victim, William Lamboy, 45, was shot twice in the neck and torso and taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition and the third victim, Eddy Torres, 48, was shot in the right thigh and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The official said all three victims had long records of mostly drug-related arrests.

Police are looking for a silver sedan that fled the scene.
