The EU is willing to organize the next round of a plenary meeting on association agreement negotiations with Azerbaijan, head of the EU office in Baku Roland Kobia told journalists on Monday in Baku.

"This is also extremely important," Kobia said.

"We have a lot of video conferences which are taking place between Baku and Brussels, but we want of course to organize a plenary round of political level to improve the progress that has been made during the video conferences and also try to move on," Kobia said.

Kobia stressed that there was a meeting between the chief negotiators in Brussels last week between Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev and John Kjaer from the EU.

According to Kobia, they have agreed to resume the plenary negotiations and also to increase the pace of negotiations.

"I see Azerbaijan recognizes the importance of these negotiations and secondly tries to increase the speed," Kobia said, added that the plenary meeting yet will take place in Baku, most probably in January or February.
