Production value of building materials made in Azerbaijan from January through June 2021 increased, Trend reports referring to the State Statistical Committee.
According to the committee, this indicator amounted to 374.4 million manat ($220.2 million), which is 40.2 percent more than in the first half of 2020.
During the reporting period, the production of building blocks and bricks made of cement, artificial stone, or concrete increased by 76.2 percent, enameled marble, travertine, alabaster, and products from them - by 83.1 percent, building gypsum - by 33.7 percent, ready-mixed concrete for brick-laying - by 41.6 percent, building mortar - by 29.6 percent, and cement - by 8.4 percent.
At the same time, the production of asphalt decreased by 43.3 percent.
Besides, metallurgical products worth 432.1 million manat ($254.1 million) were manufactured in the first six months of this year.
