Azerbaijan’s 10M2021 total assets of banks increases

The total assets of banks in Azerbaijan in 10M2021 increased by 13.9 percent, or 4.27 billion manats ($2.5 billion) compared to the same period last year - from 30.685 billion ($18 billion) to 34.963 billion manats ($20.6 billion), Trend reports citing the Central Bank.

According to the bank, during the specified period, in the structure of banks' assets, the largest part was made up of loans issued (46.5 percent), which increased over the year by 11.6 percent - from 14.6 billion ($8.6 billion) to 16.3 billion manats ($9.6 billion). After deducting target reserves, the volume of loans issued amounted to 14.6 billion manats ($8.6 billion).

Also, the volume of banks' cash over the year increased by 40.4 percent - up to 1.77 billion manats ($1.041 billion) against 1.26 billion manats ($741.5 million) a year earlier.

At the same time, investments in securities amounted to 4.7 billion manats ($2.8 billion), while a year earlier this figure was at 4.33 billion manats ($2.5 billion), increasing by 8.5 percent over the year.

In the structure of long-term assets of banks, fixed assets increased on an annualized basis by 3.7 percent - from 737.1 million ($433.8 million) to 764.8 million manats ($450 million), intangible assets - by 15.5 percent - from 135.3 million ($79.6 million) to 149.6 million manats ($88 million) and other assets were estimated at 1.57 billion manats ($924 million) against 1.38 billion manats ($924 million) a year earlier (an increase of 13.7 percent).
