BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 18. Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, held a videoconference with Mirek Dušek, the Managing Director of the World Economic Forum (WEF), Trend reports via Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that Azerbaijan has established fruitful cooperation with the WEF and is actively participating in several of its initiatives.

The discussions focused on the steps being taken in Azerbaijan towards digital transformation, innovation, and technological advancements. Additionally, the exchange of ideas regarding future partnership opportunities took place.

In the course of the meeting between the Ministry of Economy and the WEF, an online ceremony was held to sign the Letter of Intent for the Acceleration Platform. According to the agreement, both parties will jointly support initiatives aimed at integrating Azerbaijan into a global knowledge and exchange network connecting the public and private sectors. The platform aims to create new opportunities in innovation and skills development and to contribute to the growth of a modern skills ecosystem.

The Accelerator Platform is expected to provide solutions for developing human capital in line with the rapidly changing economy and to stimulate public-private partnerships in the future.

To note, the WEF Accelerator Platform is a nationwide public-private partnership initiative aimed at inclusive development. With accelerator platforms currently operating in forty countries, they help foster collaboration between sectors, develop labor market-relevant skills, and expand the use of innovative solutions. These accelerators offer opportunities to harness the potential of various WEF platforms.
