An earthquake hit the Azerbaijani side of the Caspian Sea.
The earthquake struck at 00:03 in the Caspian Sea, 48 km east of Baku and 16 km south-east from the Zira settlement on Jan.12, the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences' Seismological Service told Trend. The earthquake, measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale, was recorded in 65 km depth.
The tremors of the earthquake were not felt.
