Baku prevented the spread of psychotropic substance brought from Iran to Azerbaijan.

Some 0.210 grams of methamphetamine was seized from a Baku resident Georgi Leontiev as a result of search operations conducted by employees of the Khazar District Police Department, the Interior Ministry said today.

Previously convicted Baku resident Fuzuli Aliyev also was arrested, who sold the substance to Leontiev. Some 0.170 grams of methamphetamine was seized from him.

During the investigation it was found that Aliyev brought 103,991 grams of methamphetamine from Iran. He gave 103,611 grams of the narcotic substance to the Astara region's resident Vasif Ahmadov for further sale.

As a result of operational search activities, Ahmadov was arrested. Attempt of spreading the drug was prevented - methamphetamine was seized in a specified amount.
