Around 34 people died and 49 injured in fires that occurred in Azerbaijan during the first half of this year, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations said on Wednesday.
The number of fatalities decreased by four, whilst injured by 11 compared to the same period of 2011.
Around 11 explosions occurred during this period or nine less accidents (45 per cent) compared to the same period of 2011. The blast killed three and injured seven people.
According to the report, around 4057 natural and man-made accidents occurred in Azerbaijan in the first half of the year, or 1427 cases more than in the same period of 2011.
Around 43 people died, 66 injured, 143 were rescued and 26 were evacuated as a result of these accidents.
