196 People Rescued in Azerbaijan Beaches this Season

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. К.Zarbaliyeva / A total of196 people were rescued along beach waters this season. The Azerbaijani Emergency Situation Ministry has reported that 179 people were rescued in state beaches, 13 in privately beaches and 4 in the other water areas. In compliance with the report for 2006 most of those were children and teenagers.

The Ministry has stated that parents do not watch out for their children and has urged that no swimming should be prohibited when the waves exceed a height of 50 cm. There are prohibitions to swim beyond the boundaries of beach zones and swim 20 m from the coast, to approach vessels, boats, bridges, barge and others.

A total of 43 facilities and 21 posts are operating at the State service.
