Joint preventive strategic trainings of 'Baykonour-Anti-terror 2007' will take place in Kazakhstan's Baykonour space centre on 26-28 September, the head of the CIS Anti-terror Centre, Andrei Novikov, said to journalists on 12 September, ITAR-TASS quotes.
"Practical issues regarding organization of preventive search arrangements intended to reveal diversionary terrorist groups, as well as regarding special operations intended to release hostages and to neutralize terrorists in ecologically dangerous objects intended for launching space vehicles, will be perfected during the trainings," he said. Oxygen-nitrogen plant in the Baykonour complex was selected as such object.
According to Novikov, Belarusian, Kazakhstan, and Russian special services will act as terrorists.
"The trainings envisage conditional capture of the oxygen-nitrogen plant and its staff. A special operation on release of hostages and neutralization of terrorists will be held," he said.
According to him, the experience gained at the space centre will spread over other counties with adequate objects.
