Azerbaijan, Lankaran / Trend corr. P.Aliyeva / Changes will be made in the Azerbaijani Election Code due to marking of fingers during election process, Mazahir Panahov, the chairman of the Central Election Commission, said to journalists in Lankaran, Azerbaijan on 30 October.
According to Panahov, changes and supplements to be made in the Election Code of Azerbaijan after discussions the issue with the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe.
Discussions directed to improve the Election Code of Azerbaijan will be held by the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe in Baku on 7 and 8 November.
Each Azerbaijani opposition party developed proposals to make changes in the Election Code of Azerbaijan. Some parties consider election commissions should be formed on parity bases.
Panahov believes it is impossible to form election commissions on parity bases. The pre-election campaign starts in July 2008. The presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be held in October 2008.
