Many Azerbaijani Political Parties Do Not Have Internet Websites

Azerbaijan, Baku, 1 July / Trend corr. E.Babayev / Many Azerbaijani political parties do not have their own Internet websites. According to Trend , at present only the Citizen Solidarity party has its permanent website ( www.vhp.az ), New Azerbaijan party ( www.yap.org.az ) and Democratic Reforms party ( www.demreforms.org ).

Almost 52 political parties received state registration in the country. Approximately twenty parties hold active political activities.

Arif Hajili, Head of the Central Executive Administration of the Musavat party, told Trend that his party places information about the party's activity on the website of Isa Gambar, Chairman of Musavat ( www.isagambar.az ), daily. Furthermore, there is Yeni Musavat newspaper ( www.musavat.com ), which was founded by Gambar. "For this reason we did not open our own website. However, we can open our own website in the future as well," Hajili said.

Ali Orujov, Chairman of the Azerbaijani national Independent Party (ANIP) said that before party had its own website. However, the website was closed. "Today, we plan to restore our Internet website again," Orujov said.

Yashar Asadov, Chairman of the Social and Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (CDPA) said that the party had its own Internet website. However, at present the website is inactive. "We hope that it would be renewed soon,' Asadov stated.

Elkhan Shukurlu, Deputy Chairman of the Adalat party, stated that the organization had its Internet website. However, party had to close it due to shortcomings of funds.

Hasan Karimov, Deputy Chairman of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), said that party had its own website. However, the website was closed temporarily due to lack of party's permanent headquarters.

The Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (DPA) said that the party's website is not active. Party did not detail the reason for closing.

The Great Establishment, Classic Popular Front, Citizen Unity, Open Society and Liberal parties stated that parties' websites were inactive at present.
