Azerbaijani President to Attend Informal   Summit of Heads of State

Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 July / corr Trend E.Aliyev / Heads of state of about 10 countries will mull over bilateral and international cooperation at an informal summit due in Astana on 5 July. The summit is held within the framework of celebrations of the 10th anniversary of Kazakh capital, Latif Gandilov, the Azerbaijani ambassador to Kazakhstan told Trend .

Presidents of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, Armenia, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, as well as King of Jordan are expected to gather in Astana, the ambassador said over a telephone talk from Kazakhstan.

The presidents will discuss actual issues of bilateral and regional cooperation, exchange of opinion on international issues.

The heads of state will attend the cultural events. Gala concert will be organized in the central stadium of city in the performance of art masters of Kazakhstan, as well world musical stars.

Over 3,000 guests from different world countries are expected to visit Astana on the holiday.

Decree to move Kazakhstan's capital from Almaty to Astana was signed by Kazakh president Nursultan Nazarbayev on 20 October 1997, and the inauguration of the new capital was held in June 1998.
