Azerbaijan, Baku, 10 July / Trend corr V.Zhavoronkova/ France's President Nicolas Sarcozy thinks France as the new chairman of EU will contribute to improvement of relations between Russia and EU.
" France as the new EU chairman must act to improve EU-Russia relations," Sarcozy said at a briefing in Strasburg on 10 July.
Sarcozy supported Medvedev's idea to create an all-Europe security system.
As to deployment of United States' anti-missile defence system in Czechia, President said every country has the right to freely decide whether to place military object in its territory or not.
"Any decision must be achieved through negotiations which will reveal our common viewpoints and our common goals. Anyway, as the chairman of the Union I prefer to have as much interlocutors as possible," said Sarcozy.
