Afghanistan, Kabul, 14 September / Trend corr. A.Hakimi / Pakistani tribal elders Saturday warned of attacks on US military bases in the neighboring war-stricken Afghanistan in retaliation for recent US air and ground strikes, Trend correspondent reported from Kabul.
Malik Nasirullah, Chief of North Waziristan tribal agency, along with 12 tribal elders addressed a press conference in Miramshah, the agency's headquarters, and warned to launch retaliatory attacks on US military bases in Afghanistan if US did not halt attacks inside Pakistani territory.
He demanded the US to stop flights of spy planes and gunship helicopters or they will launch retaliatory attacks on US military bases in Kabul, Bagrram and Kandahar.
He hailing the recent statement of army Chief General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani said that whenever the military will decide to respond back to coalition troops, thousands of tribes will support the military. Recent continued US air strikes inside Pakistani territory have outraged Pakistani politicians and military officials equally. Politicians have urged the government to convene a joint session of the parliament to devise a joint strategy over the national issue.
