Azerbaijan, Baku, 26 September/ Trend , corr S. Agayeva/ Heydar Aliyev Foundation has signed memorandum on cooperation with Rome Catholic religious community in Baku.
The cooperation envisages development of relations in the sphere of education, culture and health care and maintenance of religious tolerance, expansion of relations and mutual understanding between various religious communities.
Memorandum was signed by Mehriban Aliyeva, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, good-will ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO and Jan Chapla, head of Rome catholic religious community in Azerbaijan.
According to memorandum, the parties will realize social projects, will help religious facilities, and carry out measures to develop ethnic and cultural components of nations living in Azerbaijan.
St. Maria church in Baku is expected to be reconstructed within cooperation.
New spheres of cooperation can be considered next stage in the projects realized by Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the sphere of religious tolerance. So far, a church in Baku has been reconstructed and educational institutions for Jewish children have been built within the project of Address of Tolerance-Azerbaijan.
