Azerbaijan, Baku, November 29/ Trend / Presidents of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Turkmenistan Ilham Aliyev, Abdullah Gul and Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov meet in Ashgabat on November 29 for the first time.
Ilham Aliyev attached great importance to the trilateral meeting of leaders of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Turkmenistan, Azertag state agency reported.
In his remarks, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence that results of the meeting would be useful for all three countries, to further strengthen friendly relations among the fraternal nations. President Aliyev, in particular, said: "We are united by common history and common cultural roots. And on this suitable ground, each country pursues its independence policy, trying to preserve and develop the traditional friendly and brotherly relationship."
The interstate relations among the three countries are at high level, the Turkish president noted, emphasizing importance of the current joint meeting of the presidents of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Turkey.
Leaders of the three countries plan to discuss prospects of bilateral cooperation and energy security in the region.
