Ukraine, Kiev, 3 Dec / Trend , corr. Z.Novsvitskiy/The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers approved the project of the protocol between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Azerbaijani Government on introduction of changes in the Agreement between Ukraine and Azerbaijan on the military and technical cooperation. The agreement was signed in Kiev on 24 Mar 1997. The project was envisaged in the order 1478 of the Ukrainian Cabinet dating 26 Nov 2008, which is placed on the state website.
The intergovernmental agreement envisages mutual supply of armaments; military equipment, spare parts, repair and military services are carried out on the basis of annual signing of intergovernmental protocols and agreements (contracts).
The annual intergovernmental protocols, which determine the nomenclature and volume of reciprocal supplies, are agreed and signed by sides annually.
"Such protocols are not announced and kept in secret. The Ukrainian Ukrspecexport is commissioned to sign these protocols," the Ukrainian Defence Ministry said to Trend .
Ukrspecexport state company is the authorized state mediator for foreign economic activity in the sphere of export and import of military and special-purpose military production and services, as well as commodities, which contain data of state secrets.
By issuing an order the Government charged Ukrainian Defence Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov to sign the protocol.
