Afghanistan, Kabul, Dec. 21 / Trend , A. Hakimi/ Those who have ties with illegal militant groups are not allowed to nominate for the elections, says the spokesman
The Independent Election Commission (IEC) is preparing its activities in accordance with the Afghan Constitution and the Electoral Law.
Under the Electoral Law, those who have ties with illegal militant groups, are not allowed to nominate themselves for next year's presidential elections, the spokesman for the commission said.
Although this issue was discussed in the previous elections, it was not implemented properly, he said.
The Independent Elections Commission says it seeks to make these elections more transparent.
The Commission's spokesman said the DIAG program and the country's security institutions have gathered crucial information about those who have ties with the illegal militant groups, Qooqnus reported.
