Ukrainian and Russian prime ministers Yulia Tymoshchenko and Vladimir Putin agreed to negotiate the gas crisis in Moscow on Jan. 17.

Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers reported that the two PMs reached an agreement on the matter during a telephone conversation early morning on Jan. 15.

The conversation focused on solving the gas dispute. The PMs discussed conditions for recommencing Russian gas supplies to the EU.

Tymoshchenko sent an urgent telegram to Putin and guaranteed that the entire volume of Russian gas will be delivered to the EU via the Ukrainian gas transport system except for the 8 percent to be used at gas pumping units, the Cabinet of Ministers said.
