The main task of the government of Georgia is not to hold a parade, but to preserve peace in the country, the Speaker of Georgian Parliament David Bakradze said, commenting on the intention of the opposition to hold a parade on Independence Day.
He said that unfortunately, the opposition does not accept 26 May as a day of holiday of all Georgians, but as an opportunity for provocation.
"For us the civil stability is important, and we will not give an opportunity for provocation and destabilization of the situation," said Bakradze.
On 26 May, the Independence Day of Georgia, the radical opposition plans to hold a civic parade.
