It is great responsibility to perform before own fans, Coach of the Azerbaijani junior national team on Rhythmic Gymnastics Marianna Vasileva said at a news conference in Baku.
"Six months ago when we assembled the team, we told the girls that we must show that we are ahead," Vaslileva said.
Azerbaijan ranked second in the European Championship on Rhythmic Gymnastics amongst juniors, Trend correspondent reported. The Russian gymnasts ranked first and Belarusian sportswomen - third.
The Azerbaijanis junior team on Rhythmic Gymnastics includes Abbasova Sabina, Abdusalimova Nigar, Khalafova Aelita, Maharramova Lala, Mammadova Kamilla and Zhidkova Evgenia.
The 25th European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship 2009 started in Baku on May 15. The competition was organized the Gymnastics Federation of Azerbaijan. The competition was attended by 186 gymnasts from 32
