Baku police has seized narcotics in large amount.
Sabayil District Police Department's Office for Combating Narcotics and Police Office 39 have seized 3,250 grams of narcotics from 49-year-old Maharramov Mammad Pasha oglu.
The interior ministry agencies seized over 651 kilograms of drugs in 2008, a rise a 1.9 times from 2007. Smuggle of 159 kilograms of narcotics to the country was prevented.
As many as 2,085 (91 percent) of those made accountable for the narcotics-related crimes were unemployed, 530 (23.4 percent) are earlier convicted people and 57 are women (2.5 percent) and 5 (0.2 percent) were under age people.
