Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory letter to the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, AzerTaj state news agency reported.
The Head of State congratulated Medvedev and the Russian people on the national holiday - Day of Russia.
Azerbaijan and Russia are connected by centuries-old friendly relations, the President said in his congratulatory letter. Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence that this relationship will further develop, helping expand the multidimensional bilateral ties and deepen the strategic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia in the name of the well-being of the two peoples and stability and peace in the Caucasus.
