A book, Manifest of One Ambassador, which has been published in Russian, aims to present a picture of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani diplomacy to Russia and Russian-speaking audiences, including Azerbaijan, said the author of the book, the first Azerbaijani ambassador to the USA, Rector of the Azerbaijani Diplomatic Academy, Deputy Foreign Minister, Hafiz Pashayev, at the book's presentation ceremony on July 17.

"Since gaining independence, modern Azerbaijan has not been studied thoroughly. This book talks about the revival of Azerbaijani diplomacy. The book's special feature is its poetic language, which has been preserved in the translation," Pashayev said.

The book has already been published in the Azerbaijani language.

The author gave the book the title from his father's book, Manifest of Young Man. Pashayev's father was famous Azerbaijani writer and literary critic, Mir Jalal Pashayev.

The book talks about the origin of Azerbaijani diplomacy in 1990, as well as the history of relations between Azerbaijan and the USA.

The editor of the Russian edition is Siyavush Mammadzadeh.

"Pashayev talks about difficult diplomacy. The author describes how one often faces the choice of how to find the right way out of a situation," Mammadzadeh said.

Mammadzadeh said that Pashayev started his work in the USA in the difficult year of 1990. There were false impressions about Azerbaijan. But Pashayev succeeded in fully changing attitudes towards Azerbaijan within his 16 years of diplomatic work in the USA, Mammadzadeh said.

"This book could be an excellent 'textbook' for diplomats," he said.
