An expert group was established in Azerbaijan with regards to the municipal elections.

"An expert group has been established under the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan in order to investigate complaints of citizens about violation of election rights," CEC Secretary Natig Mammadov said.

Municipal elections in Azerbaijan will be held on October 23.

According to Mammadov, the group consisting of nine people includes the CEC members and representatives of relevant departments.

In addition, an expert group of three people will be established in each district election commission. A hot line will be active at the CEC to receive complaints.

Up to now, 88 people appealed to the district election commissions to nominate for municipal elections, CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov said. Of them, 32 people received signature lists.
