Georgia, Tbilisi, Dec. 1 / Trend N.Kirtzkhalia /
Georgian Parliamentary Vice-Speaker Paata Davitaia protests against the construction of a new road linking the North Caucasus with Abkhazia and calls upon the authorities to respond immediately.
Moscow plans to construct a new road that will connect Sukhumi with Kabarda-Balkaria, he said at the plenary session today. He said Russia's vice prime minister and transport minister design will visit Abkhazia tomorrow to execute the project.
Davitaia notes that the construction of the road threatens Georgia.
"Russia will be able to deliver weapons to the Black Sea," he said. "This is a way for drug trafficking and other illegal actions that Russia had secretly planned."
