Georgia, Tbilisi, Dec. 4 / Trend N.Kirtzkhalia /
The U.S believes Georgia is doing more to bring peace to Afghanistan, than some members of the alliance, Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze said after his meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
"It was particularly emphasized, as Georgia has assumed a commitment on Afghanistan," he said.
According to Vashadze, up to 1,000 Georgian soldiers will serve in Afghanistan in the areas of responsibility of the United States and France since spring 2010.
Hillary Clinton gave special thanks to Georgia for the assistance that the country has provided to the international community in Afghanistan. "It is very important for us," she said.
