A delegation led by
Gianfranco Ravasi, an Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Church, who currently serves in the Roman Curia as President of the Pontifical Council for Culture, has visited Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The guests were briefed on the Foundation`s goals and activity, the AzerTaj sate news agency reported.
They got familiar with the items taken from the national leader Heydar Aliyev`s personal archive. The visitors were informed that the main goal of the Foundation is to study and popularize Heydar Aliyev`s rich heritage, give an idea to the future generations about his large-scale activity to achieve Azerbaijan`s socio-economic, cultural progress, and assist projects that popularize the history and culture of Azerbaijan.
They also saw photos, documents and books reflecting different periods of national leader Heydar Aliyev`s life and activity. One of the photos depicting Pope John Paul II and Heydar Aliyev during his official visit to Italy and Vatican in 1997, aroused a particular interest of the Italian delegation.
