The Constitutional Court granted the petition of the ombudsman "The Ombudsman against the Parliament of Georgia".
Since then, those who do not have citizenship of Georgia received the right to appeal to the Constitutional Court. The suit was approved by the plenum of the Constitutional Court.
The Ombudsman considers that such a restriction contrary to Article 42 of the Constitution on the right of citizens appeal to the court.
"As a result of this decision restriction will be eliminated, and many people who are not citizens of Georgia, will be able to appeal to court to defend their rights" - said ombudsman Giorgi Tugushi.
