Iran will consider the issue of extension of term of Azerbaijani citizens' stay in this country without visa, Head of the Iranian Presidential Apparatus' department for control over economic issues and Assistant to Iranian Vice-President Aliaga Mohammadi said at the news conference in Baku today.

"Given a lot of appeals on extension the term of stay of Azerbaijani citizens in Iran without visa from 15 days to a month, we, after returning to Iran, will submit a relevant proposal to the government for discussion and try to achieve extension of this," Mohammadi said.

In 2010, Iran unilaterally abolished the visa regime with Azerbaijan.  The Azerbaijani citizens traveling to Iran have not been required a visa since Feb.1, 2010.
