Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad signed a decree to dismiss Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, the presidental official website reported.
Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi was appointed the acting Foreign Minister of Iran.
Ahmadinejad thanked Mottaki for executing his official duties. Mottaki has served as foreign minister for seven years. He was appointed to this post during Ahmadinejad's first term.
At the moment, Mottaki is on an official visit to Senegal.
