U.S. drug trafficking experts to visit Uzbekistan

The U.S. Embassy in Uzbekistan and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will hold a five-day training seminar for law enforcement agencies in combating drug trafficking, the Uzbek Interior Ministry told Trend on Tuesday.
During the training workshop participants - employees of the Interior Ministry, National Security Service and Academy of Interior Ministry will get acquainted with modern methods and forms of combating drug trafficking and tactics of operational investigative actions used by their American colleagues in professional activity.
The workshop will be held by the DEA Training Office employees who have extensive practical experience in DEA and educational activities.
The U.S. Charge d'Affaires a.i. to Uzbekistan Duane Butcher at the opening of a training workshop stressed that the spread of drug use, the growth of drug-related crimes have taken a firm place in the system of modern threats to society, the Interior Ministry said.
