President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has congratulated his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev with the national holiday - Russia day, the Azerbaijani President's official website reported.
"On behalf of the people of Azerbaijan and on my own behalf I congratulate you and the whole people of Russia on your public holiday, Russia Day," the message said.
"Today friendly Russia is successfully moving forward along the path of political, socio-economic and moral modernization," the message said. "For centuries Azerbaijan and Russia have been bound up by close ties of friendship, good neighborhood and mutual support. I`m confident that our multifaceted cooperation and strategic partnership will continue developing in the name of prosperity of our peoples and countries, regional peace, stability and progress.
